A little story ? This salt comes from the 20th century, when wine transport was in full swing ! During storms, sailboats carrying wine had a lot of barrels of red wine spilled on the deck of a ship. The wine mixed with the salt crystals and the Winemaker's salt was born !

The blue color of this Iranian salt comes from the potassium ore called sylvinite. Exclusively present in halite salts. Generally pink, blue salt is extremely rare. Persian blue salt is mined in the mountainsides of Semnan province in northern Iran and more precisely in the mountain range of Ergourz.
Persian blue salt has many nutritional qualities. The raw ore extracted from the Iranian mountains is rich in calcium, magnesium, iron and potassium. With only a few tons extracted each year, Persian blue salt is one of the rarest in the world.

This mixture is the result of clumsiness's trapper from Canada. Actually, he spilled salt into his maple sugar jar one day. Not wanting to chuck his precious sugar, he used the mixture obtained on his dried bison meat.
