Where does milk chocolate come from?

It is in 1875, in Vevey in Switzerland, that Daniel Peter gives birth to milk chocolate. His idea: associate cocoa with milk in order to obtain a softer, more melting and irresistibly indulgent recipe. The discovery of condensed milk will be the trigger: it finally allows integrating milk into chocolate and imagining a new way to enjoy it.

This innovation marks a major turning point in the history of chocolate. Quickly adopted, milk chocolate becomes an essential reference, appreciated for its perfect balance between cacao intensity, milky sweetness, and melting texture. Even today, it remains one of the most comforting chocolate pleasures.
